Two times Academy Awards nominated for her roles in the films “In America” by Jim Sheridan and “Sweet and Lowdown” directed by Woddy Allen, Samatha Morton has for several years now stopped  being a promising actress and became a  well-established professional within the film business. 

So far, the British actress has worked with worldwide filmmakers and worked alongside some of the most acclaimed contemporary actors. In 2002, Steven Spielberg selected her for his "Minority Report" cast, where she starred opposite Tom Cruise.

In recent years, Morton has worked with names like Johnny Depp (in "The Libertine"), Cate Blanchett and Clive Owen (in "Elizabeth - The Golden Age"), Tim Robbins (in "Code 46), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (in "Synecdoche, New York") and Daniel Craig (in "Enduring Love").

Often praised by critics, the actress has found herself in the running for several awards: she was twice nominated for the Golden Globes and three times selected for the BAFTA’s prizes.

The British actress will play the role of Vija Kinski in Cosmopolis. This will be Samantha’s debut working with David Cronenberg.
